Discovered attack 闪击战术 Discovered check 闪将 In chess, a discovered attack is an attack revealed when one piece moves out of the way of another. Discovered attacks can be extremely powerful, as the piece moved can make a threat independently of the piece it reveals. Like many chess tactics, they succeed because the opponent is unable to meet two threats at once. While typically the consequence of a discovered attack is the gain of material, they do not have to do this to be effective; the tactic can be used merely to gain a tempo. If the discovered attack is a check, it is called a discovered check and is more often.
reveal 暴露 meet two threats 面对两个威胁 gain of material 获得子力(得子)
Examples:
1. Gain of material (通过闪击得子例)
1. Rxd6 Qe4
1.Nxe5 Rd8
2. Threat (通过威胁杀王得子)
1.Rxf6 gxf6 2. Qxg1
White plays a sacrifice 1.Rxf6, threating next move Rxf8 mate, so black is forced to play gxf6 and will lose his queen on g1.
1.Bd4 Kd7 2.Bxg1
1.Bxa7 Kxa7 2.Rxh3
Notice the difference between above two examples :
In the first, the uncovered piece checks the King. This is a discovered check. In the second, the moving piece delivered check. This is a discovered attack. The naming isn't really important. What matters is that you understand the difference between the two patterns.
在牵涉到将军情况下,上述第一例,由未闪开的子将军,闪开的子攻击得子,称为闪将;第二例,由闪开的子去将军,未闪开的子攻击得子,为闪击。 HI-CHESS整理
